PRESS RELEASE
AUSTIN, Texas (March 29, 2016) – XOR Data Exchange, the Austin-based startup that developed the nation’s first multi-industry, permission-based data exchange, has stepped up its leadership in the data security arena with the addition of Ralph Logan as chief information security officer.
As CISO, Logan is responsible for the security measures of XOR’s business practices and solutions, and serves as director of XOR Lab, the company’s newly developed research and industry leadership arm. Currently working with some of the nation’s leading financial institutions and telecommunications providers, XOR empowers businesses to put their data to use responsibly and securely in order to address business challenges such as fraud and credit risk.
“As we work to help companies leverage their data, security is our number-one priority,” said XOR Founder and CEO Mike Cook. “Information privacy remains the biggest hurdle for businesses collecting consumer data across industries; and the addition of both a CISO and XOR Lab will allow XOR and other companies to better serve the needs of clients.”
With data breaches on the rise and risk continually growing for businesses and consumers alike, organizations – including the U.S. government – are working to close gaps in security measures to support continued growth and protect consumer interests. Logan brings to XOR more than 18 years of experience in information and product security, having consulted some of the world’s biggest enterprises as well as the federal government, and serving on the board for The Honeynet Project for 10 years.
“We’ve reached a point in time when our personal information is readily available to companies and organizations – and, as a result, to savvy hackers,” commented Logan. “Security measures to date have not always kept up with risk. While XOR as a company is working hard to close those gaps for clients, XOR Lab is focused on what’s next – what can we do across industries to prevent consumers’ personal information from ending up in dangerous hands.”
