Check Point Software to Invest $100M into its Cloud Security Business
June 4, 2021
PRESS RELEASE
This year, Check Point Software will invest $100 million into its cloud security business and has plans to hire a hundred more developers to an already robust cloud security workforce. The new initiative helps address a growing need for organizations everywhere that have been forced to operate with remote workforces due to the coronavirus pandemic, as they are now subject to a new class of cyber threats targeting their cloud environments.
The initiative builds on top of Check Point Software’s current momentum on cloud security. Last year, the company generated over $100 million in revenue from its cloud security business. The company also made four cloud acquisitions in the last 24 months, boasting 500 dedicated cloud engineers, with over 4,000 customers worldwide and over $100M in sales in 2020. And today:
1 out of 4 global Fortune 500 use Check Point’s cloud security products (and 1 out of 5 global 2000)
1 out of 3 of world’s largest banks use Check Point’s cloud security products (S&P)
1 out of 5 of top retailers in America use Check Point’s cloud security products (NRF)
Quote: TJ (Tsion) Gonen, Head of Cloud Security at Check Point:
“Rapid cloud adoption makes for greater cloud security risk. In a post-pandemic world with accelerated cloud computing, a remote workforce, dynamic network access and more attack vectors for cloud threat actors, organizations everywhere need to ensure their business is secure in the cloud, and ready for the next cyber-pandemic. To address the need, we made a series of recent acquisitions that are now integrated into a powerful offering: our CloudGuard platform, which delivers automated cloud native security in a multi-cloud environment. Thus, we are now announcing a global initiative to invest $100 million dollars into our cloud offering, with plans to hire a hundred more developers to our already robust cloud security workforce. Check Point is the only cloud security provider offering a unified platform securing networks and applications across AWS, AZURE, ORACLE, Ali and Google. For more than 4000 organizations, Cloud Security is Check Point, and with these additional investment initiatives, we are looking forward to helping thousands of more organizations to adopt the cloud with confidence.”
