PRESS RELEASE
LAS VEGAS — HyTrust today announced that its encryption and key management solution, HyTrust DataControl, is available to customers of VMware Cloud on AWS. Launched today with initial availability in AWS US West (Oregon) region, VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware’s enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software and elastic, bare-metal infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to give organizations consistent operating model and application mobility for private and public cloud. HyTrust DataControl enables VMware Cloud on AWS customers to quickly and easily encrypt their business-critical workloads in the cloud, while maintaining control of the encryption keys, and enjoying the agility and cost benefits of hybrid cloud infrastructure.
HyTrust DataControl offers zero-downtime encryption with integrated key management to secure virtual machines and their data throughout their lifecycle. DataControl is easy to deploy – installation takes seconds – and is uniquely able to encrypt or re-key data without disruption from taking applications offline, as data is encrypted at rest. The customer retains control of encryption keys, making the data secure in the cloud, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
"HyTrust is pleased to support VMware Cloud on AWS, providing data security for an enterprise-grade hybrid cloud infrastructure," said Eric Chiu, Founder and President of HyTrust. "When organizations place business-critical applications and data in a hybrid cloud, they need to protect them in a way that maintains the flexibility and efficiencies of the cloud. HyTrust DataControl delivers zero downtime encryption that spans hybrid cloud infrastructure and offers users integrated key management that allows organizations to protect and maintain control of their data."
