Partnership with Leading IT Solutions Provider in Japan will drive global growth of SilverSky’s Managed Security Services
August 12, 2014
PRESS RELEASE
NEW YORK, August 12, 2014 – SilverSky, the leading independent provider of cloud-based managed security services, today announced its partnership with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC), a leading IT solutions provider in Japan. CTC will leverage SilverSky’s advanced technology and deep information security expertise to deliver managed security services to its customers. The partnership will enable both SilverSky and CTC to capitalize on the rapidly growing managed security services market in Japan and the entire Asia Pacific region.
CTC selected SilverSky after a lengthy competitive process that included a number of leading managed security providers. CTC will leverage SilverSky’s experience in serving highly regulated, security conscious companies to target customers with high security demands, such as companies in the financial services, manufacturing, and public sectors. CTC has aggressive growth plans for the MSS business line and aspires to bring on 100 or more customers in 2015. The Tokyo-based IT solutions provider generated more than $3 billion in total revenue in 2013.
CTC will officially launch its managed security business unit (CTC-MSS) and open its first Security Operations Center (SOC) on October 1, 2014. SilverSky’s deep security expertise will enable CTC to manage customer security infrastructure and monitor customer networks 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. CTC-MSS will leverage SilverSky’s highly trained and experience security team, heavily audited internal processes and controls, and advanced technology. CTC’s SOC infrastructure will be based on SilverSky’s Network Security Platform, which goes far beyond commodity solutions by incorporating:
· Massive amounts of security data from SilverSky’s large customer base, including the 425 million security events and 50 million emails the company processes per week
· Custom-developed correlation rules to protect customers from evolving threats
· SilverSky Labs threat and vulnerability research
“Leveraging SilverSky’s deep security expertise will enable CTC to rapidly build a strong competitive position in the managed security market and strengthen our position as a global, end-to-end IT solutions provider,” explained Tadataka Okubo, CTO, Director & Managing Executive Officer of CTC.
This partnership represents another important step in SilverSky’s aggressive expansion into the Asia Pacific region. The company operates a Security Operations Center in Manila, Philippines, and recently announced the expansion of its Managed Application Services and Email Protection Services in Asia through a partnership with SoftLayer, an IBM company.
“The partnership with CTC will enable SilverSky to expand our global footprint rapidly by leveraging CTC’s great reputation and experience as a leading provider of IT solutions in Japan and across the globe,” said Richard Dobrow, President, Asia Pacific Region and Chief Compliance Officer at SilverSky.
