PRESS RELEASE
Boston, Mass. – December 10, 2020 – The global leader in predictive email defense, Vade Secure has launched a new modular mail transfer agent (MTA) that allows ISPs, telcos and email service providers to build their own bespoke email transfer system.
Vade Secure now protects more than one billion mailboxes across the world. It helps businesses in 76 countries shield users from email security threats such as malware, phishing and spear phishing, and works with the world’s leading telcos and ISPs to secure messaging for consumers.
An MTA is responsible for transferring emails between computers using the SMTP protocol. Microsoft Exchange, for example, is an MTA that acts as the agent behind Outlook. The new modular MTA Builder from Vade Secure is highly customisable and features a range of microservices which allows users to tailor the MTA to their own needs. The Vade MTA Builder will help service providers cope with an ever-changing threat landscape, giving them the ability to set their own policies and letting them quickly respond to changing circumstances by creating a transfer agent which matches their unique requirements.
Georges Lotigier, Vade Secure CEO, said: “We are very pleased to have reached this major milestone. Protecting one billion mailboxes is a huge honour and a serious responsibility. The release of the Vade MTA Builder shows that we are always working on new ways to guard our users from email threats. Cybercriminals don’t sit still – and neither do we. This release builds on our growing range of products and support for telcos and ISPs, giving them the agility to address new business requirements and technical challenges without limitations.”
He continued: “Traditional MTAs are inflexible and cannot be modified on the fly, forcing providers to employ open-source software solutions or leave themselves at the mercy of the vendor’s update schedule. The Vade MTA Builder allows providers to quickly respond to threats, new regulations or changing circumstances.”
Companies that use the Vade MTA Builder will be able to set up rules governing the transmission of emails, as well as whitelists and blacklists or customised filters to make sure dangerous messages do not end up in users’ inboxes.
The Vade MTA Builder helps ISPs and email service providers move away from sprawling codebases and cope with unpredictable traffic patterns. It offers next-generation capabilities which allow for rapid scaling and continuous integration as well as rapid monitoring to facilitate high-speed incident response. It can be customised using a builder provided as a Golang (Go) build environment, which can be API or CLI controlled, Git-based, and CI-integrated. Users will be able to incorporate Vade’s built-in templates or employ modules from the global Go community for their own custom development.
The modular architecture of the Vade MTA Builder features microservices for each individual component, increasing the stability and predictability of each service while reducing complexities and challenges for operations teams.
The modular Builder lets providers keep their MTA compliant with the latest security standards and drafts without delay as soon as they are published, rather than waiting for third-party updates. Once in place, the Vade MTA Builder can help to reduce operating costs by 5x and guarantee data consistency. It also offers service providers the ability to natively benefit from their latest incident response architecture.
