Actually, the results of Wednesday's night's ClamAV Anti-Virus Fight club should read: And The Winnahs Are...Three of the entrants in the Linuxworld event caught 100 percent of the viruses employed in the test: Clam, Kaspersky and Symantec scored clear knockouts.

Worst performers were GlobalHauri, Fortinet, and SonicWall, down at 61 percent success rates.

Don't know if the Fight Club apporach will catch on -- though I'd bet Clam aims at making it an annual event -- but it seems to me that a fair fight, held in public, using known viruses, is a pretty good way to sort through the various claims the various anti-virus firms make.

Wonder if any of the lesser performers are lobbying for a re-match yet.
