STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- AppGate Network Security, a leading provider of network security solutions, today announced that it is working with atsec information security for the evaluation of the Security Server V.7 for Common Criteria certification. The AppGate Security Server is an application gateway that unifies security elements such as authentication, authorization, encryption, access control, client control, monitoring and reporting into one solution.

The Common Criteria is an internationally recognized ISO standard (ISO15408) used by governments and other organizations to assess security and assurance of information technology products. The evaluation process undertaken by atsec information security will provide an independent test of the AppGate Security Server against these rigorous standards.

“As a supplier to many customers in the defence and government sector, we are seeing a growing demand for security evaluations in other industry sectors as well”, says Tomas Olovsson, CTO of AppGate Network Security. “Many security companies make claims about their products. The Common Criteria certification process provides an objective, independent assessment of the capabilities of the product, enabling customers to be confident that their network security solution will meet their security needs.”

Staffan Persson co-founder of atsec and Managing Director, atsec GmbH (Munich) and atsec AB (Sweden) said, “We are proud AppGate has chosen us for this evaluation. Our longstanding record for on-time delivery and high-quality work spoke for us. We are looking forward to helping AppGate achieve their goal.”
