PRESS RELEASE

July 13, 2009 (Wilmington, MA) " Astaro Corporation (http://www.astaro.com), a leading network security vendor, today announced that Astaro has earned multiple VMware Ready certifications for its security products. Astaro Security Gateway, Astaro Mail Gateway and Astaro Web Gateway have all been certified as VMware Ready, and Astaro is the only Unified Threat Management provider to have submitted to and passed VMware Ready validation.

The VMware Ready program recognizes solutions that are interoperable and optimized for VMware platforms. The program includes testing and certification for solutions that complement VMware's Virtual Datacenter Operating System (VDC-OS) and vCloud initiatives. Customers who use VMware Ready offerings benefit from the safest and broadest choice of solutions, reduced risk, and lower integration costs.

The Astaro Security Gateway, Astaro Mail Gateway and Astaro Web Gateway earned the coveted VMware Ready certification after completing extensive validation testing and meeting strict criteria defined by VMware. Astaro is the only Unified Threat Management vendor to have VMware Ready certified products. The new VMware Ready initiative enables customers to quickly identify VMware partner products and solutions that are optimized for VMware Infrastructure. Products that carry the VMware Ready logo have passed specific VMware integration and interoperability criteria and are ready-to-run mission critical business applications and operations with full VMware support.

"Astaro has long offered our solutions as virtual appliances so customers can take advantage of the many benefits and cost savings associated with virtualization. This deployment model has been a success for both us and our customers and has continued to grow as virtualization continues to grow in popularity. Astaro has been a certified virtual appliance partner and supporter of VMware for over five years," said Angelo Comazzetto, Product Manager, Astaro Corporation. "This most recent certification further demonstrates our relentless commitment to offering security solutions that can operate in virtual networks. Of almost 1200 virtual machines listed in the VMware Virtual Appliance Marketplace, only 17 products currently carry this level of certification from VMware, and three of those are from Astaro. We are very excited at Astaro that our products are supported within their new vSphere 4.0."
