BioPassword Adds RedHat Linux 4 Support
BioPassword announced BioPassword Internet Edition 2.1 with support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
SEATTLE -- BioPassword, Inc., the leader in software-only strong authentication, today announced BioPassword® Internet Edition 2.1 with support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. In addition to Citrix and Windows Active Directory, Internet Edition is now compatible with Linux-based platforms to provide an added layer of security to support the growing need for authentication solutions in open source enterprise environments.
More than half of IT decision makers (58 percent) now use open source software for mission-critical applications, according to a recent report from Forrester.[1][1] As more organizations in financial services, insurance, energy, government, and digital rights management adopt Linux for their environments, BioPassword can offer strong authentication for Web-based applications while integrating easily into large-scale Web environments.
“As the risks of online fraud and identity theft remain high, stronger authentication for consumers is critical,” noted Mark Diodati, Identity and Privacy analyst with the Burton Group. “These stronger authentication systems must be able to support a wide range of user and service provider platforms in order to be successful.”
BioPassword Internet Edition 2.1 provides the easiest-to-use and most cost-effective multi-factor authentication solution for online users by analyzing a combination of standard login credentials (userID and password), keystroke biometrics (unique typing rhythm) and knowledge-based authentication (user selected questions and answers).
“BioPassword continues to innovate to meet the needs of our growing customer and partner base for multi-factor authentication,” said Jared Pfost, vice president of security and product strategy at BioPassword. “Supporting Linux is another step toward changing the landscape of authentication by broadening our coverage of software-only multifactor authentication.”
