LONDON -- Camelot Group plc - the operator of The National Lottery in the UK, has again selected Utimaco to protect the data carried by its remote users. As part of an upgrade of all its mobile devices, Camelot will continue to safeguard the integrity of its data by deploying SafeGuard Easy. In May, Camelot upgraded all the 155 tablets belonging to the sales force, transferring the SafeGuard licences from their old to the new machines.

SafeGuard Easy provides a secure solution for remote devices, ensuring the integrity of the National Lottery is maintained. Should a device be lost or stolen then the data is fully secured. Unlike other solutions which encode only selected files or directories, SafeGuard Easy encodes the entire content of the hard disk. This means that all the information on the hard disk is protected - regardless of where the data is stored.

"All remote users have SafeGuard Easy installed on their laptops or tablets. This ranges from the sales force who use them in their interactions with retailers - to communicate recent sales figures or demonstrate the latest offerings from Camelot, to any user in any department who needs to travel with a laptop or work from home," said Matthew Lord, technical security manager, Camelot Group plc. "It is important to Camelot to reassure its mobile employees that, should they misplace a device, it is only the device that is lost, not the data it contained."

SafeGuard Easy requires very little training from a user point of view - just an additional password. Camelot's Desktop Support team creates and maintains accounts, and the Service Desk has the authority to reset passwords as required.

"Camelot has had its company licences for a number of years," Jackie Groves, Utimaco's managing director, confirmed, "and we are thrilled that SafeGuard Easy continues to provide reassurance to Camelot enabling them to go on utilising remote solutions. It is of paramount importance to Utimaco that its customers have confidence that their data is secure."
