NEW YORK -- Columbitech, a leading mobile VPN security software provider, today announced new features for mobile devices and smartphones, including support for Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6 operating system, up to 50% improved battery life and device management support for Network Access Control (NAC). The new features enable retailers and enterprise customers to reap the benefits of wireless capabilities without sacrificing security or performance.

As a Microsoft certified partner, Columbitech has added support for Windows Mobile 6 to increase interoperability and allow mobile workers easy and secure access to corporate networks. By supporting Windows Mobile 6-enabled smartphones and PDAs, Columbitech is adding security without affecting usability. Mobile workers can now experience increased productivity, knowing that the information being transmitted is fully secure.

“Wireless is becoming ubiquitous in the retail stores. Wireless devices provide an enhanced consumer experience, better customer service, and rapid transmission of transactions and inventory data,” said Steve Rowen, a Partner and PCI Compliance Specialist at Retail Systems Research. “It is heartening to see more vendors – like Columbitech – offering products that help retailers realize these productivity gains while maintaining a high level of security.”
