Columbitech Joins Standards Council
Columbitech announced it has been accepted as a participating member of the PCI Security Standards Council
NEW YORK -- Columbitech, a leading mobile VPN security software provider, today announced it has been accepted as a participating member of the PCI Security Standards Council. By joining this Council, Columbitech reconfirms its commitment to help retailers meet PCI compliance and protect customer data from potential hackers.
The PCI Security Standards Council develops, maintains and oversees the adoption of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) – a set of best practices for the payment industry. The PCI DSS enhances data security and proactively protects customer account information at all points in the payment process – processing, transmission and storage.
As a member of the Council, Columbitech will now be able to comment on drafts of all revisions to the DSS specification, and on any new specifications, prior to public release. In addition, Columbitech will be able to recommend any new initiatives for consideration to the PCI Security Standards Council.
“Columbitech is thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in such a significant organization,” said Lars Resenius, CEO of Columbitech. “Our involvement in the Council will enable us to take a more active role in educating the business community about PCI DSS and improving the protection of consumers worldwide. It would be great to have an industry certification program in place to help retailers know which solutions are certified for PCI compliance.”
