MUNICH -- Cryptomathic today announced that the Association des Fabricants et Personnalisateurs de Cartes (AFPC), a leading smart card personalization institution, has selected Cryptomathic’s CardInk for the generation of French payment card applications.

CardInk will soon perform the data preparation (data generation and crypto key management) for over half of all French payment cards, supporting prestigious personalization bureaux such as Oberthur Card Systems, CPS Technologies (subsidiary of the ABNote Group) and Euro P3C, the personalization bureau of Crédit Mutuel/CIC Group. CardInk’s flexible offering enables demanding issuers to process data for specific French applications such as Moneo ePurse or legacy magstripe applications as well as for standard EMV applications.

Mr Philippe Delanoue, President of the AFPC and President of CPS Technologies, commented: “After a long selection process, we chose Cryptomathic’s CardInk for its ability to support custom and standard applications on a single platform. The AFPC members have different personalization chains so it was crucial for us to find a solution that is adaptable to all environments, but which leaves options open for future applications which will evolve in such a dynamic payments market.”
