Dark Reading's Database Security Tech Center Refresh

The Dark Reading Database Security Tech Center is expanding. The subsite, devoted to bringing you news, product information, opinion, and analysis all focused on the very timely topic of database security, has been well-received by our readers since its launch in June, so we're adding two new elements to provide even more depth of coverage: a new blogger dedicated to database security, and new monthly feature articles that drill down on the latest database security threats and issues.Today you'll meet our new database blogger, Adrian Lane, an analyst/CTO with Securosis, who has been in the industry for 22 years, including stints at Oracle and Ingres. Lane formerly served as CTO at database security firm IPLocks, and also was vice president of engineering at Touchpoint, CIO of brokerage CPMi, and CTO of security and digital rights management firm Transactor/Brodia. His first blog post today talks about using a stored procedures as a weapon against SQL injection attacks. Check it out here.

And on October 9, we'll post our first in a series of in-depth features. This first one will explore passing a database compliance audit using the proper user entitlements and segregation of duties. We're also releasing a new Database Security Report today called "Protecting Your Databases From Careless End Users." Look for two more reports during the next few months.
