Disney Licenses Solution to BiTKOO

BURBANK, Calif. -- The Walt Disney Studios has licensed its internally developed authentication and fine-grained authorization system named "Keystone" to BiTKOO, LLC. The patent-pending technology increases application and web services security, lowers software development costs, provides compliance with security regulations, audits authentication and authorization events across all applications and is the global standard for Disney where it has experienced broad adoption across the enterprise.

"In 2003 we recognized a big problem in user authorization; controlling which users had access to which roles, functions, and data in an application," said Steve Davis, chief architect, and vice president, Information Technology for the Walt Disney Studios. "We went to the marketplace but there was a gap between our requirements and what was available. We needed the problem solved so we built our own product. The fundamental technical concepts behind our solution will eventually become a necessity in the rapidly growing identity management and access control market, which is driven by increasing audit demands including Sarbanes Oxley."

BiTKOO is developing enhanced functionality for the release of Keystone version 3, the first commercially available version of the product.
