WASHINGTON and PARIS -- Editions Profil, a leading European developer and publisher of security and content filtering software, has chosen the image and video analysis technologies developed by LTU Technologies to enrich and expand the capabilities of its own content filtering tools while further enhancing their accuracy.

As visual content like video continues to proliferate in step with users’ rising Internet download speeds, ensuring appropriate use of the Internet within enterprises, government agencies, schools and even homes is becoming increasingly challenging. The websites and content that users access often place them, their organizations, or even their families at risk. As a result, more than ever, enterprises and governmental organizations must assure measures are taken to reduce liability and adhere to regulations and mandates. Parents also realize the urgent need to protect their families from Internet risks of all types, from pornography to online predators to fraudulent websites.

Editions Profil’s products provide the necessary tools to block users’ access to threatening content through the analysis of numerous content types. This partnership with LTU adds comprehensive video analysis capabilities to an impressive list of content types already supported, including Internet site addresses, semantic content, email, instant messages, search engine results, and images.

The next versions of Edition Profil's entire suite of content filtering products will benefit from technologies developed by LTU, including Parental Filter (for home use), Enterprise Filter and Enterprise Filter Network (both for business use). Enterprise Filter Network is currently available in Beta version at http://betatest.enterprisefilter.eu and is scheduled for full release in the second quarter of 2008.

The tools operate across multiple languages, user site locations, communication protocols and file extensions, and can even regulate access based on pre-authorized schedules.

"We were impressed by LTU’s reputation for reliability among law enforcement organizations such as the French Gendarmerie Nationale, US Homeland Security and the FBI who leverage its technology in the war against child abuse and investigations of child abuse images,,” said Franck Chartier, Director of Marketing, Editions Profile. “These technologies will now bring an additional layer of protection that complements the filtering tools developed by Editions Profil.”
