PRESS RELEASE

STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fixmo, a leading provider of mobile security and risk management solutions for the public and private sectors, today announced that its defense-grade enterprise mobility solutions will be used to enable the secure and compliant use of Samsung Knox devices within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Through a newly ratified Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) published by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), mobile devices powered by the Samsung Knox platform have now been approved for use within DoD agencies when coupled with the Fixmo Sentinel solution for device integrity verification, tamper detection and mobile device management (MDM). With the Fixmo Sentinel offering, DoD agencies can now empower their employees with the latest Samsung Galaxy devices and Android-based mobile applications while maintaining compliance with the STIG security requirements.

"Samsung Galaxy devices powered by Samsung Knox are highly secure mobile devices," said Injong Rhee, Senior Vice President and Head of B2B R&D Group, Samsung Electronics. "Mobile security partners, such as Fixmo, help to ensure that Knox devices comply with DoD compliance policies."

With Fixmo Sentinel, IT organizations can go beyond traditional policy management capabilities to ensure their mobile devices and applications start, and remain, in a trusted and compliant state.

In addition to supporting an extensive set of MDM policies for securing the use of Samsung Knox devices, Fixmo provides a unique device integrity verification solution that has been developed as part of a Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. National Security Agency. Samsung Knox devices are the first to offer Fixmo's patented technology as an embedded solution out-of-the-box.

"We are thrilled to support the DoD's efforts to expand their use of mobile devices to deliver on operational imperatives," said Rick Segal, Founder and CEO of Fixmo. "With the new STIG in place, defense agencies can now embrace industry-leading smartphones and tablets from Samsung while using Fixmo's mobile security products to protect sensitive information and maintain policy compliance. It's a powerful combination that opens the doors for DoD agencies to truly innovate around their use of mobile devices and applications."

The announcement comes on the heels of Fixmo's recent news of its collaboration with the U.S. Air Force to provide technologies to ensure secure mobile communications and safe access to mission critical applications on a range of smartphones and tablets.
