Fortify Software announced a definitive agreement to acquire McLean, Va.-based Secure Software

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Fortify Software Inc., the market-leading provider of software security products that span the software development lifecycle, today announced a definitive agreement to acquire Mclean, Va.-based Secure Software, Inc. The acquisition of Secure Software extends Fortify's lead in the software security market by expanding its worldwide customer base and extending its presence in the greater Washington, D.C. area to better serve the federal market. The acquisition of Secure Software's technology, including its rights to CLASP (Comprehensive, Lightweight Application Security Process), expands Fortify's reach into the requirements & design phases of the software development lifecycle. It further strengthens Fortify's integration with IBM products, specifically the Rational Unified Process (RUP).
