Grisoft announced several new versions of its antivirus offerings for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD open source platforms
MILLBURN, N.J. -- GRISOFT, the developer of AVG security software, today announced several new versions of its antivirus offerings for GNU/Linux and FreeBSD open source platforms. The products include AVG Email Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD now with integrated anti-spam as well as new products for the GNU/Linux platform - AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 7.5 for Linux/FreeBSD and AVG File Server Edition 7.5 for Linux/Free BSD. This release strengthens GRISOFT's commitment to alternative operating systems including support for FreeBSD.
"Small businesses are using alternative operating systems like GNU/Linux and FreeBSD for e-mail, web and file server applications along with Windows-based workstations," said Larry Bridwell, Vice President of Global Security Strategies of GRISOFT. "This allows for reduction in total cost of ownership. AVG for Linux and FreeBSD editions complement this strategy, while making sure the heterogeneous environment remains secure without impacting the system resources."
