Have Your Say: Dark Reading Video News Desk Seeks Reader Contributions
We've got questions for you on black infosec, burnout, vulnerabilities, COVID-19, and much more. Send us your video responses and we'll play them in our News Desk broadcast during Black Hat Virtual.
Although Black Hat USA will not return to Las Vegas this year, the Dark Reading News Desk will return to Black Hat, with complete video coverage of the event. And this time, we want you to be a part of it.
Send us brief videos about your experiences. Tell us about your successes and struggles, your dreams and nightmares, your realities of today and predictions for tomorrow. Or you can even tell us "I'm sick of being asked this question." Or "I would answer, but I'm too tired. Too busy."
We'll include excerpts of your submissions in a Dark Reading News Desk segment appearing during Black Hat Virtual, Aug. 3 and 4. Some of the topics we're interested in:
How has COVID-19 impacted your security work?
Have you had to explain security vulnerabilities to a doctor or patient?
What do you wish we knew about your experience as a black security professional?
What do you tell family when they ask about election security?
How have you faced the challenge of securing a more remote workforce during the pandemic?
What will you miss about being in-person at Black Hat/Defcon?
What recent vulnerability gave you the most trouble?
Why is patching harder than it looks?
With unemployment soaring, how confident are you that your security job is secure?
Do you feel you have a good grip on the security of your cloud assets?
When did you realize "I'm burnt out"?
What future threats worry you?
The sweet spot is about one-minute long. However, we'll accept submissions as short as five seconds, and as long as five minutes, until Friday, July 10th.
Contact us at [email protected] with the subject heading News Desk Reader Video, and let us know which question/s you'd like to submit answers for. We'll tell you what to do next.
