SAN FRANCISCO -- Network Engines, Inc. (NASDAQ: NENG), a leading provider of server appliance products and services, today announced the availability of its new Virtual Appliance Solution service. Built on the Company’s extensive experience in the appliance market, this new service offering enables independent software vendors (ISVs) to meet their enterprise customers’ rapidly growing demand for virtual appliances. It is the first and only service offering available today that includes all required elements for true, virtual appliance production.

Swivel Secure, a leading provider of two-factor authentication technologies, is the first ISV to take advantage of this first-of-its-kind service. The company used the service to produce a virtual appliance running the company’s flagship PINsafe product. Network Engines is demonstrating the PINsafe virtual appliance, as well as its physical counterpart, in Booth #207 at the VMWorld tradeshow at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“We saw an opportunity to meet data center customer needs and address a completely new group of customers by offering them our application as a lower-cost virtual appliance,” said Fraser Thomas, Director of Business Development for Swivel Secure, a leading provider of two-factor authentication technologies based in the United Kingdom. “With this new service from Network Engines, we had everything we needed to build our virtual appliance, including an optimized Linux operating system and element management software. Because everything was included, we had our software running as a fully functioning virtual appliance in less than two weeks, which gave us a real jump start in our new target markets.”
