PRESS RELEASE
SAN DIEGO, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has selected and deployed the Anakam Identity Suite(R) to provide two-factor authentication and remote identity verification of disaster victims' online loan applications.
The Disaster Assistance Electronic Loan Application (ELA) allows anyone with damages to their home or business resulting from a declared disaster to apply for disaster loan assistance. Homeowners and renters can apply for damages to their home, personal property, and vehicles.
Businesses can apply for damages to their real estate or business contents and for economic losses. With the deployment of the Anakam Identity Suite(R), disaster victims may now apply for disaster loan assistance at their own convenience using any computer connected to the Internet. As a result, the ELA simplifies the application process and speeds delivery of assistance to disaster victims.
The Disaster Credit Management System (DCMS) integrates Anakam.TFA(R) Two-Factor Authentication and Anakam.IDV(R) Identity Verification system in order to help the SBA accurately identify an applicant before the initial data is submitted and protect the privacy of the citizens when they return to the ELA site for continued access to their personally identifying information. Anakam binds the early and rapid identity verification with the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-63 Level 3 authentication offered by the Anakam.TFA(R) product which enables quick processing into DCMS thus decreasing the processing time required to get needed relief and maximizing privacy protection for citizens on remote access to personal information. In fact, when initially deployed, SBA ELA was the largest citizen-facing, Level 3-protected, eGovernment application.
"Anakam is pleased to support SBA with this important, national-level program," stated Allan Camaisa, Anakam CEO. "In addition to providing direct support to the SBA ELA business process, Anakam also shows its ability to provide an authentication barrier for personally identifiable information and sensitive financial information, provide citizen-facing scale with disasters as they occur, and support the authentication process of individuals from the initial encounter all of the way to the issuance of the benefit."
The electronic loan application can be accessed via the SBA's secure Web site at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
