MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Securent, Inc., the award-winning leader in the Application Entitlement Management market, today announced that it is a Sponsor Member of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS). OASIS is a not-for-profit, international consortium that drives the development, convergence, and adoption of e-business standards, such as the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML).

Securent will work with OASIS toward the advancement of current and emerging standards, including XACML, by sharing its expertise in open architectures and best practices learned by addressing customers’ needs for application and data security, and compliance. Last year, Securent unveiled the industry’s most robust enterprise application entitlement management system based on open industry-accepted standards. By delivering its Entitlement Management Solution (EMS) as an XACML-compliant product, Securent has provided customers such as Credit Suisse and Qualcomm with a scalable and cost-effective alternative to custom coding fine-grained access controls into applications.

“Securent’s decision to implement XACML 2.0 in its Entitlement Management Solution is indicative of the value this standard is capable of delivering to real-world enterprise customers,” said James Bryce Clark, director of standards development at OASIS. “We applaud enterprises that select open standards-based solutions over proprietary alternatives. We look forward to working with Securent to further the advancement of XACML, and further XACML’s penetration in the marketplace as a standard that defines access control policy language and protocol.”
