SecureWave, a worldwide leader in endpoint security, today announced a partnership with PatchLink Corporation
HERNDON, Va. -- SecureWave, a worldwide leader in endpoint security, today announced a partnership with PatchLink® Corporation, the global leader in patch and vulnerability management, to provide an enterprise solution that protects networks against all known and unknown security threats. Enterprises that take advantage of both technologies will be able to automate updates to SecureWave's Sanctuary® application "whitelist" by incorporating patches and other updates directly from PatchLink's PatchLink Update Server (PLUS) system and applying those to corporate endpoints.
With the proliferation of enterprise hacker attacks and the combination of time constraints and compliance regulations facing IT administrators, the possibility of a security breach poses an enormous threat to the enterprise. SecureWave and PatchLink in combination provide the best line of defense against unknown malware threats while at the same time offering enterprise-wide vulnerability assessment and remediation.
SecureWave Sanctuary automatically stops all forms of malicious codes, including zero-day threats, and controls the use of any portable device with a whitelist approach that focuses on a single list of allowed applications and devices, denying access to any device that is not on the approved list. Using PatchLink UpdateTM, administrators can remediate system vulnerabilities across their entire IT infrastructure to ensure endpoint security and compliance.
SecureWave has further expanded its offering to Novell customers with the addition of support for Novell eDirectory this summer. Novell® ZENworks® Patch Management (powered by PatchLink Update), customers will benefit directly from the integration with SecureWave Sanctuary. The integration will extend Novell's identity-based Resource Management solution to include full automation of the patch and application control processes.
"Customers need the tools to efficiently patch and secure workstations, laptops and servers to keep up with the constant threat of attacks," said Joe Wagner, general manager of systems and resource management at Novell. "The combined PatchLink and SecureWave solution helps our customers meet compliance standards, enforce and audit application and device usage policies and improve security at the network's most risk-prone entry point - the desktop."
"In order to combat the constant barrage of network security threats and stay safely within the realm of corporate compliance, enterprises must be meticulous about their patch management and overall security strategy," says Dennis Szerszen, vice president of marketing and corporate strategy at SecureWave. "By integrating SecureWave's industry-leading endpoint security technology with PatchLink, we've reduced overhead to an absolute minimum by creating an automated process of updating and managing the whitelist. It requires zero effort to maintain the application and device whitelist and it frees IT administrators to focus on mission critical projects."
