Security Innovation Offers Online Course About Information Security Fundamentals

WILMINGTON, Mass., March 11, 2009 " Since the human factor is the weakest link in information security, Security Innovation has launched a new e-learning course to help organizations make every employee enlightened and vigilant.
"Adopting the Six Fundamentals of Information Security" is a 60-minute self-paced course that dramatically illustrates the breadth of corporate information security risks, the stakes involved and the best practices for minimizing those risks. It is a brand new addition to the TeamProfessor e-learning catalog. The course was launched last week with TeamMentor, a just-in-time security guidance product, as part of Security Innovation's new E-Knowledge offering.
Intrusions are more common than many think, and uninformed employees, not technology, are often the root cause. Organizations in the US and UK have reported an average of 484 data breaches per year between 2006 and 2008 inclusively, according to the Open Security Foundation. Approximately 210,000 Internet crime complaints have been filed every year since 2006 by organizations and individuals throughout the US, according to the Internet Crime Report.
