Security Innovation Rolls Out New Application Development Security eLearning Offering

Wilmington, Mass., – February 15, 2011 – Security Innovation today introduced a new version of its flagship eLearning product specifically designed to help application development and security teams adopt The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) guidelines into their standards and processes. The new TeamMentor OWASP Edition is available for free and is designed for corporations, educational organizations and individuals who are creating software applications and need guidance on how to design, write, and deploy them securely. Also introduced today is Security Innovation’s OWASP Top 10 Threats and Mitigations eLearning product. It is a free, 90-minute computer-based training (CBT) course with a comprehensive exam. The new eLearning products were developed as part of the OWASP Exams Project, which Security Innovation leads.

The exact guidance needed is readily accessible, since it can be filtered by functional role, technology, any of the Top 10 threats, and several other options with a single mouse click. The content and authoring component of TeamMentor OWASP Edition is freely available as open-source and can be used to customize best practices to comply with an organization’s internal policies. OWASP Top 10 Threats and Mitigations CBT can be consumed on-line or downloaded as a Sharable Content Object Reference Model package for integration into an existing LMS (learning management system).
