SAN FRANCISCO -- Liquid Machines®, Inc., the leader in Enterprise Rights Management (ERM) solutions, today announced that Symantec has licensed its ERM technology as part of Symantec’s Enterprise Vault content management, archival and retrieval system. The Liquid Machines’ ERM functionality ensures that electronic content protected and encrypted using Microsoft Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) can be processed by Enterprise Vault in a way that complies with government regulations and company policies. Additionally, all licensing metadata is preserved in the archive and can be indexed and searched as appropriate.

“The combination of Liquid Machines’ technology and Microsoft RMS helps customers meet their fiduciary responsibilities by encrypting content and archiving it for future search and disclosure,” said Nick Mehta, vice president of product management for the Information Foundation Group at Symantec. “Our customers can be confident that rights-managed emails and attachments are accurately archived and managed appropriately with regards to full archival retention, index and search preservation.”

“Symantec’s selection validates the customer demand for enterprise rights management with archiving and a broad range of infrastructure and business workflows,” said Ed Gaudet, vice president of product management and marketing at Liquid Machines. “By integrating Microsoft RMS, encryption and archiving into one solution, customers are now able to ensure that their protected information remains that way when archived and stored—helping them meet fiduciary requirements and be certain that critical company data is not compromised.”
