NEW YORK -- TheInfoPro (TIP), www.TheInfoPro.net, has released the Wave 7 Time Series report of its Information Security Study, detailing the comparison of four sets of in-depth interviews with leading Information Security professionals conducted over two years in six month intervals or "Waves." TIP's latest study, released in Q3 of 2006, involved over 275 in-depth interviews with pre-screened information security decision-makers.

In Wave 7, TIP's peer network continued to show a strong level of planned adoptions for Network Access Control (NAC), reinforcing what TIP uncovered in the Wave 6 report released six months ago. The technology that has shown the most positive movement on TIP's patented Technology Heat Index(TM) was Security Information Event Management (SIEM), followed by Wireless LAN Security, and then Network Access Control.

The Technology Heat Index is a measurement tool utilized in each of TIP's sectors of study. These include Networking, Storage, Servers, and of course, Information Security. The index measures the immediacy of implementation of over 38 Information Security technologies based on near-term implementation plans, and then weights that against a company's spending data. To be high on a TIP Heat Index is a positive sign for any technology, and it also bodes well for the vendors that the Security professionals interviewed self-select as their primary provider.
