NEW YORK -- Varonis Systems Inc., the foremost innovator and provider of comprehensive, actionable data governance software, today announced that the company closed Q2 2007 with more than 65 customers and 200 installations, delivered two new product versions, and established expanded headquarters in the U.S. Varonis’ success evidences the current business need for technology that automates the process for determining data access controls and rightful use.

“Varonis’ success affirms our prediction that businesses will adopt risk-based governance for information management and analysis,” said Rose Ryan, research analyst for IDC’s Security Products and Services. “Varonis has developed a comprehensive software tool that gives data-access management back to the data owner.”

Varonis’ data governance software gives organizations total visibility and control over their unstructured data, which includes documents, spreadsheets, images, media files and presentations. Varonis solutions are being embraced across all industries, ranging from fine arts and to financial services. With more than 65 customers and 200 installations, new customers added this quarter include Massachusetts Financial Services, Sharp Healthcare and Children’s Hospital and Health System.

“Defining user permissions and auditing their use in accessing sensitive data were challenging tasks for us because the process had been manual, and the volume of unstructured data on our file servers is continually growing,” said Chuck Klawans, information security officer for Children’s Hospital and Health System of Wisconsin. “Varonis’ data governance technology has helped our IT department reduce the likelihood of data misuse and ensure that access to key company information is very closely monitored. Since the permissions are verified automatically, we not only save time but we stay in step with data growth.”
