SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- AirMagnet Inc., the award-winning leader in wireless network assurance solutions, today announced the appointment of Chris Roeckl as vice president of marketing. Roeckl brings nearly 20 years of IT industry experience to AirMagnet, including senior marketing positions at Fortinet, Infoblox and NetScreen Technologies. Roeckl is responsible for AirMagnet's global marketing functions, spanning marketing communications, PR/AR, channel and partner marketing, product marketing and product management.

"Chris' security and networking expertise, and his marketing experience at some of the Valley's most successful technology companies, are very valuable for AirMagnet," said Dean Au, CEO of AirMagnet. "Security, performance monitoring and troubleshooting are becoming increasingly important for wireless as it moves from a tactical to a mission-critical piece of network infrastructure. As AirMagnet continues to expand its product set and provide solutions that enable organizations to achieve wireless network assurance, Chris will be instrumental in our efforts to accelerate and build on the company's success."

While vice president of corporate marketing at Fortinet, Roeckl was instrumental in rebranding the company as a large enterprise systems company and established it as the thought leader and segment leader for unified threat management solutions. In addition to Infoblox and NetScreen, Roeckl also served as the director of marketing at Inverse Network Technologies, as the director of IT research at the Robert Frances Group, and as the executive editor of Communications Week (a CMP Media publication).
