LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Arbor Networks, a leading provider of network security and operational performance for global business networks, announced today an updated and expanded version of the Peakflow SP platform (“Peakflow SP”), which improves network security and operational performance for more than 70% of the world’s service provider networks. Peakflow SP 4.0 combines pervasive, cost-effective network-wide visibility with deep application insight and analysis of critical network traffic, services and applications - providing a unified solution for ensuring the availability of the next-generation services. Peakflow SP is delivering a unique combination of security, visibility and policy enforcement in a single box.

“Peakflow SP has a very robust set of capabilities beyond providing network security. We also leverage the product extensively for traffic analysis and capacity planning,” said Mick Creane, security expert with BT. “Using Arbor’s Peakflow SP in conjunction with its Threat Management System provides a high level of integration between the detection and mitigation processes against Internet based attacks. It provides a highly effective approach to filtering out malicious traffic without interrupting the flow of legitimate traffic to enterprise customers.”

“Peakflow SP is the first provider-class product for combined flow and deep packet inspection (DPI) based threat analysis and mitigation,” said Rob Malan, Arbor Networks co-founder and chief technology officer. “Peakflow SP is a comprehensive solution that offers the ability to monitor and regulate the flow of critical applications across an entire service provider network. We are also helping providers make more intelligent business decisions, reduce costs, surgically mitigate threats and improve customer service.”
