SEATTLE -- Leading SSL VPN product company Aventail today announced an addition to its family of secure remote access appliances. The Aventail EX-1600 utilizes the latest in hardware design and is a pure network appliance. It features a small footprint, lightweight chassis, and front panel LAN ports and controls for easy rack mounting and ongoing management. Designed specifically for the mid-range market, the EX-1600 supports 25 to 250 concurrent users.
The EX-1600 also supports high availability and clustering with active/active stateful failover and integrated load balancing for a two-node cluster. This makes the EX-1600 ideal for disaster recovery deployments or for organizations that want to ensure always-on remote access for their users. It comes standard with two 10/100 Ethernet ports for LAN/WAN connectivity and one 1000 Base-T port for a high-availability common connection.
“As large enterprises have clearly chosen SSL VPNs as the preferred technology for secure remote access, the demand is now rising from the mid market,” said Mark Hatton, Managing Director of Sphinx, one of the UK's leading independent IT Distributors and Aventail’s distributor in the Northern European region. “The Aventail EX-1600 is perfect for mid-sized enterprises that want to start deploying a reliable remote access solution and provide room to grow as their users and needs expand, and we are expecting strong demand for this appliance.”
