MILPITAS, Calif. -- Access Distribution, a General Electric company and a leading value-added distributor of complex computing solutions, and ConSentry Networks, a leading provider of secure LAN solutions, today announced a distribution agreement at Access Distribution's 16th annual NEW FRONTIERS Conference. Under the agreement, Access Distribution will distribute ConSentry Networks' LAN security solutions to authorized value-added resellers in the U.S. and Canada.

Access Distribution will carry ConSentry Networks' full LANShield product and solution line designed to protect enterprise assets by securing a company's LAN. A broadening of who needs access to corporate LANs and the simultaneous need to protect business critical assets has made the LAN more vulnerable to security threats. ConSentry Networks' customers rely on the LANShield products to gain control over who can access the LAN and what those users can do on the LAN. ConSentry Networks enables customers to layer in this security without any changes to client machines, switches, VLANs or ACLs, or identity servers.

"Access Distribution is the ideal distribution partner for our overall strategy and product portfolio," said Dean Hickman-Smith, vice president, Worldwide Sales, ConSentry Networks. "The high-touch nature of their business and strong network of enterprise-class VARs will help us deliver our products to a market that requires a comprehensive approach to LAN security." The addition of ConSentry Networks complements Access Distribution's new Emerging Technologies business. The Emerging Technologies business is focused on identifying and working with companies that have up-and-coming technologies predicted to have a high impact on the market and outpace mature technologies in both growth and profitability.

"The need for secure systems and networks is no longer a question for businesses today," said Scott Zahl, vice president, Emerging Technologies, Access Distribution. "The challenge now is to determine how to protect these systems and networks from ever growing and changing security risks. By adding the innovative LAN security solutions from ConSentry Networks, Access Distribution is introducing higher margin opportunities to our VAR partners while giving Consentry the critical channel development that is necessary to broaden its reach."
