SEATTLE -- F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced the availability of its FirePass® 1200 platform. The FirePass 1200 appliance introduces a new, cost-effective addition to F5’s SSL VPN product family, which also includes the award-winning 4100 platform.

The FirePass 1200 platform offers secure remote access and can be licensed for 10 to 100 concurrent users, with upgrades in this range available without an additional hardware purchase. This system is powerful and attractively priced to enable small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and branch offices to increase their user numbers in accordance with their individual business needs.

FirePass 1200’s purpose-built appliance delivers industry-leading ease of use and manageability with tools such as its Visual Policy Editor. Other key attributes include:

  • Stringent security – Integrated endpoint security capabilities such as protected workspace and a unique virtual keyboard for key logger protection

  • Ultimate flexibility – Built-in support for all SSL VPN access modes including network-level VPN access and granular access to specific web-based and client/server applications

  • Broad application support – Clientless support for common applications such as OWA, iNotes, Terminal Services, and Windows Files
