TORONTO -- Gentek, a leading North American distributor of Broadband, Network Security and VoIP products and solutions, has been appointed distributor for Yoggie Security Systems™, makers of the revolutionary Yoggie™ security series and the new Yoggie Pico ProTM, a multi-functional security system on a USB stick. As well as selling through existing channel partners, Gentek will be looking for more resellers to take this groundbreaking new technology into the Canadian and US business market.

The Yoggie Pico ProTM is a hardened, linux-based computer contained in a USB stick that is dedicated to protecting the host laptop or PC. It uses 13 security applications to screen all network traffic before it reaches the laptop or PC. Unlike software-only security suites, the combination of offloading security onto a piece of dedicated hardware and its patent pending technologies means the Yoggie Pico ProTM is not exposed to PC-related vulnerabilities.

The Yoggie Pico Pro™ allows IT managers to extend control their travelling workforces by enforcing policy via the Yoggie Management Server™, which monitors and manages the fleet of travelling Yoggie Pico Pro™ devices. Installed in the IT server room, it provides security policy updates, signatures, and rule-base updates, while obtaining local logs and events for complete visibility. This enables IT Security managers to protect their organizations’ mobile and remote platforms in a non-intrusive, yet consistent manner.

Jeffrey Freedman, VP Sales of Gentek, commented: “Gentek is extremely excited about the Yoggie product line. We believe that it solves a huge problem for IT Departments since they have traditionally been unable to ensure that laptop computers are protected and secure outside of the office environment. Yoggie has provided an outstanding solution to laptop users and with the thirteen different layers of security protection, including firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, anti-virus, anti-spam, ant-spyware, anti-phishing and policy enforcement, they have raised the bar for mobile security devices.”
