Reflex Security shipped the Reflex Security Interceptor 1000
ATLANTA and LAS VEGAS -- Reflex Security, Inc. (www.reflexsecurity.com), pioneer and innovator in intrusion prevention systems (IPS), today shipped the Reflex Security Interceptor 1000™ -- a full-featured high-performance appliance for enterprise-class intrusion prevention and policy enforcement that sets new technology and market expectations for network security. Leveraging the company's new Reflex Security Parallel Processing Architecture™, the Interceptor 1000 is the industry's first gigabit IPS solution to fully take advantage of the ever-increasing power of Intel's Multi-Core processors, and simultaneously redefine the market's benchmark for IPS price/performance.
In its most recent Magic Quadrant for Network Intrusion Prevent Systems Appliances, 2H06 Report (December 2006), Gartner, Inc. noted that IPS appliance "solutions remain priced at approximately $50,000 per Gbps of deep inspection." At a list price of $35,000 USD/MSRP and an average street price of $28,000, the Reflex Security Interceptor 1000 is significantly more affordable and price/performance competitive than offerings from other vendors of 1-Gbps IPS appliances.
New Software Architecture Brings Unprecedented Performance and Scalability
The Reflex Security Parallel Processing Architecture™ (RSPPA) is a new scalable software platform which enables all Reflex Security solutions to leverage Multi-Core (not just Dual-Core or Quad-Core) processing technology. Reflex's RRSA uniquely auto-detects the presence of CPU cores and takes advantage of them. Thus a Reflex Security system running a single CPU will have single CPU performance; 4 CPU performance is achieved when the software runs on a Dual CPU / Dual Core device, and a Dual CPU / Quad-Core system yields 8 CPUs worth of performance.
"In the past, security systems have found it difficult to leverage multiple CPUs within a single system. Our new architecture not only leverages multiple CPUs but is designed to scale into the future. In the future when Dual-CPU 8-Core technology becomes available from Intel, Reflex Security's software will not have to change, and the RSSA will automatically detect and take advantage of the 16 CPUs available," said John Peterson, VP of Product Management of Reflex Security.
