BALTIMORE -- SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in information security, today announced the availability of a version of QuickSec, the industry’s leading IPsec VPN toolkit, that has been optimized specifically for Applied Micro Circuit Corporation’s (NASDAQ: AMCC) new PowerPC 405EX and 405EXr evaluation platforms.

SafeNet and AMCC have a proven history in delivering integrated, best-in-class security solutions to the industry’s leading networking equipment manufacturers. The result of this joint commitment gives AMCC customers an immediate IPsec security solution, already integrated, documented, tested and benchmarked for the PowerPC 405EX and 405EXr processors, therefore reducing time-to-market and development costs.

“Security is a top priority for network device manufacturers when evaluating competing IPsec Security Solutions,” said Charlie Ashton, director of software, AMCC. “SafeNet’s industry-leading QuickSec software provides our customers with a way to ensure that all data and communication between their devices is encrypted and therefore not susceptible to loss of privacy or integrity.”
