SonicWall to Use Mu Analyzer
Mu Security announced that SonicWALL uses the Mu-4000 Security Analyzer
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Mu Security, a pioneer in the new security analyzer market, today announced that SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNWL) a leading provider of comprehensive data protection solutions, uses the Mu-4000 Security Analyzer. SonicWALL now ensures customers best in class product resiliency and robustness by leveraging Mu-4000 systems to discover, document and eliminate sources vulnerabilities and potential security breaches for its UTM, Firewall and VPN product suites. With the Mu-4000, SonicWALL is automating its complex product testing and release processes using Mu’s constantly growing three-plus years of published vulnerabilities to ensure systems remain highly resistant to malicious attacks and potential costly network downtime.
“As a security company with millions of users worldwide, our prime objective is to provide the highest level of protection against known and zero-day security breaches. We are committed to putting our products through the most rigorous stress testing possible in order to keep our customers safe and productive,” said Joe Levy, chief technology officer at SonicWALL. "Mu's Security Analyzer complements our internal vulnerability detection methods, which accelerates our remediation efforts, and decreases exposure to exploitation."
Prior to implementing the Mu-4000, SonicWALL used a combination of strategic engineering resources, internally developed test scripts, open source tools and additional third-party test platforms for product quality testing and assurance purposes. With its product portfolio capabilities expanding rapidly, SonicWALL recognized the need to efficiently scale its vulnerability analysis and problem remediation processes and reduce costs through a more automated solution.
SonicWALL’s solution of deploying the Mu-4000’s Published Vulnerability Analysis (PVA) attack capabilities enhances the automation, regression testing and reporting framework of the security analyzer to ensure newly issued patches or signatures effectively block specific published vulnerabilities.
“By deploying Mu’s PVA capabilities, we’re automatically detecting and fixing a far greater range of published vulnerabilities with fewer IT resources in less time,” said Levy. “Mu is providing our teams with significant competitive and time-to-market advantages as well as major cost savings.”
