Sony: Playstation Network Will Be Down 'At Least A Few More Days'
Hacked network has been inaccessible for three weeks
A Sony spokesperson yesterday said it will be a little longer before the PlayStation Network is up and running, following the hack that brought the network to a halt nearly three weeks ago.
"I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored," said spokesman Patrick Seybold, in a short message posted to the PlayStation blog. "At this time, I can't give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days."
The company said on April 28 that services would be restored "within a week," but then asked for more time to make sure its servers were secured.
No one seems quite sure whether the hacker group Anonymous was involved in the attack -- including members of Anonymous.
"While it could be the case that other Anons have acted by themselves, AnonOps was not related to this incident and it does not take responsibility for whatever has happened," a message from the AnonOps group said in a YouTube video on Monday.
So far, there have been no confirmed reports of any fraud as a result of the data breach.
