SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Agito Networks, Inc.Ô, a company pioneering new technology in enterprise mobility, today announced the next generation of enterprise mobility products – its RoamAnywhereÔ Mobility Router. The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is the industry’s first and only business mobile convergence platform that uses RF-based, location-aware technologies to better mobilize voice and data applications, while remaining agnostic to enterprise customers’ choices of mobile carriers and equipment vendors.

In developing the product, Agito Networks has applied its expertise in WiFi and cellular RF technologies to enable enterprises to address the productivity needs of their mobile workforce while reducing the cost and complexity associated with mobile voice and data deployments.

Agito Network’s innovative, patent-pending location-aware technology allows enterprises to mobilize voice by taking full advantage of their WiFi deployments as an alternative to cellular networks for in-building mobility. This enables enterprises to reduce up to 60 percent of their cellular expenses, and avoid deploying costly, carrier-specific equipment to address poor cellular coverage. To ensure a seamless mobility experience for mobile workers, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router provides fast, automatic routing between the enterprise WiFi networks and any carrier cellular network.

With more workers today relying on their mobile phones as their primary business phone, challenges such as poor in-building coverage, rising cellular usage costs, lack of corporate control and visibility over cellular usage, and meager integration options for heterogeneous enterprise environments are significantly impacting their ability to effectively communicate and conduct business.

“Here at WestEd we have substantial growth of our mobile staff, and we need a solution that simplifies the process of reaching them,” said Richard Wenn, Director of Interactive and Information Services at WestEd, a nonprofit agency with 16 offices nationwide working to promote achievement and improved learning for students and adults. “The Agito Networks RoamAnywhere Mobility Router appears to be a good fit with our move toward a VOIP strategy to improve communication for our teleworkers. The router’s location awareness combined with its one-number identity capability provides a transparent hand off between wireless and cellular networks so that users don’t have to think about switching networks each time they arrive at the office. I am excited about the fact that I will not have to ask staff to manually change their profile on their phone when they change locations.”
