Verio to Deliver GlobalSign SSL Certs
Verio and GlobalSign announce strategic partnership
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. and CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- GlobalSign Inc (www.globalsign.com), and Verio Inc (www.verio.com), today announced that Verio has joined the GlobalSign Partner Program, and will begin offering GlobalSign SSL products to its solution provider partners that buy and renew SSL certificates. GlobalSign is one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA), a specialist in SSL security and part of the GMO Internet Group. Verio is a leading provider of business solutions online, including hosting, applications and managed services. Under the partnership, Verio will offer GlobalSign SSL products to its customers, as well as introduce GlobalSign’s SSL certificates to its own Web infrastructure and servers.
Key features of the GlobalSign SSL certificate itself include the option of utilizing Domain Validation, Organization Validation or Extended Validation (DV, OV and EV), the free inclusion of Server Gated Cryptography (SGC) in every certificate (to “step up” weak 40 bit browser to server connections to strong 128 bit), extensive warranties and recognition by all popular browsers, applications and mobile devices. Customizable certificate start and end dates, clickable site seals, the ability to include Subject Alternative Names (SANs) and wildcard characters to allow the securing of multiple servers and sites with a single certificate, all result in an SSL offering with comprehensive benefits for Verio customers and its solution providers worldwide.
“GlobalSign brings 10 years of experience in the security sector, and the feature-set Verio is able to offer customers and its solution providers will immediately benefit end users,” said Kiyoshi Maeda, president and chief executive officer for Verio. “With GlobalSign, Verio will offer more options, increased security and attractive pricing to both our customers and our partners.”
