Security Innovation Network Chooses Top 16 Emerging Companies

The Security Innovation Network (SINET) has chosen 16 emerging security companies to display their technologies in its annual SINET Showcase later this month.

SINET, an organization formed to spark cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration, announced the 2011 SINET 16 Innovators who will present at the SINET Showcase on Oct. 26 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The SINET Showcase is supported by the Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate, and was created to exhibit "potentially disruptive" cybersecurity technologies in front of an audience of buyers and influencers from the investment, research, commercial, civilian, defense, and intelligence communities.

More than 100 emerging technology companies applied to join the showcase; they were vetted by a steering committee of government, industry, academia, and investment experts. The committee worked with federal agencies and private industry to identify their most critical needs and requirements -- criteria that were used to help evaluate applicants.

The 2011 SINET 16 Innovators are CipherCloud, cloud data encryption and tokenization; FIXMO, mobile device risk management; Glimmerglass, optical cyber solutions; Imanami, group identity management; Invincea, endpoint browsers and document security; KoolSpan, mobile device encryption engine; Mocana, smart device security; MokaFive, virtualized desktops; Mykonos Software, code level application security; Revere Security, high efficiency encryption technology; Rsignia, advanced servers for detection, mitigation, countermeasures, and forensics; SilverTail Systems, predictive analytics for detection and prevention of website fraud and abuse; SS8, lawful interception and communication forensics; Stegosystems, malware execution prevention; Symplified, cloud security; and Triumfant, attack detection and remediation.
