Dark Reading Launches Jobs Board
New feature will help hiring companies and security job seekers find each other online.
If you're a IT security professional today, you are more in demand than you know. In study after study, research firms estimate that the industry will need to hire hundreds of thousands of new people over the next few years, and there aren't nearly enough qualified people to fill them.
What these studies don't show is that even among the enterprises that have security teams, there is a constant need to upgrade. As attacks become more sophisticated and technology becomes more advanced, many organizations find that even the people they've employed don't have the experience and training they need to protect enterprise data.
Filling the security skills gap has become a huge part of the IT defense equation. So today, Dark Reading is launching a new feature: the Security Jobs Board. The Jobs Board will enable hiring companies -- including government, commercial companies, and security vendors -- to post positions for hire directly to one of the Web's largest audiences of security professionals: Dark Reading readers.
Readers will be able to respond directly to those employers in a safe, private online environment, enabling them to find out about the many job openings open in the industry. In addition to the Jobs Board, Dark Reading will be expanding its coverage in our "Careers and People" section, offering additional news and information on issues such as training, certification, staffing, hiring trends, salaries, and job hunting.
This news coverage will be enhanced by commentary from recruiting and hiring experts who work with security staffing issues every day. We think the Dark Reading Jobs Board will be a feature that you will come to view and use on a regular basis, even if you're not actively job hunting today. And it's still a work in progress, so please feel free to offer any feedback on how we can make it more useful to you. Good hunting!
