PRESS RELEASE
St. Louis, Mo. " June 15, 2009 " Cymtec Systems, a leading provider of products that help companies optimize network performance and fulfill the rigorous audit and compliance standards imposed on today's organizations, today announced a vigorous start to 2009, with first quarter revenue increasing in excess of 35 percent over the previous quarter. The increase was due largely to record sales of its flagship network optimization and visibility appliance for remote and branch office environments, Cymtec Sentry, with revenues increased in excess of 100 percent over the same quarter for the previous year.
"Cymtec is one of a small cadre of vendors we've identified that is focused specifically on providing visibility, performance and security for remote and branch office environments," said Paul Roberts, senior analyst, The 451 Group. "The company's strong first quarter sales suggest that a difficult economy and the continuing challenges of compliance are creating opportunities for well positioned companies that can provide visibility and control of distributed enterprise networks "a major priority for CIOs and network managers across industries."
As remote and branch office networks become increasingly essential for small to mid-sized companies, particularly in the technology sensitive organizations, such as law firms, so too does the need for better and more affordable technology to effectively manage, troubleshoot and optimize those environments. Cymtec Sentry is the only solution available that meets the specific performance and visibility needs of remote and branch offices, which has led to increased demand for the product despite a challenging economy and tightened IT budgets.
Expanding Customer Reach On the heels of adopting a fully channel-based distribution strategy in the second half of 2008, Cymtec expanded its reach into several core vertical markets in Q1 2009. While adding more new customers than in any previous quarter, Cymtec expanded with new customer wins across the legal, financial services, healthcare and manufacturing markets. Cymtec has defied a challenging economy while demonstrating the critical need for its products among network managers at mid-sized organizations in all markets.
In addition to Cymtec Sentry, Cymtec continues to enjoy success with its unique Cymtec Scout "plug and play" Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Cymtec Scout provides powerful threat detection capabilities that allow IT managers to better protect their network assets before threats impact business operations. Cymtec Scout is the only network intrusion detection solution (IDS) in the market delivered entirely through a SaaS model.
"Cymtec's current growth is being fueled by a commitment to providing tools that help companies optimize network performance and meet the strict audit and compliance standards faced by organizations across industries," said Andrew S. Rubin, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cymtec Systems. "Our record performance in the first quarter underscores how effective we've been in accurately assessing the market need for our solutions, listening to our customers and engineering best-of-breed technology."
