Orlando FL, ARC Industry Forum, February 8, 2016 – NextNine, a leader in Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Management, today announced that its platform now goes deeper than ever before in auto-discovering assets in industrial and critical infrastructure environments.

Assets must be discovered and inventoried before they can be secured, yet in broadly distributed environments such as energy generation facilities, oil rigs or chemical plants, every machine and its connected computer typically needs to be manually discovered to create a proper inventory, a tedious and costly process. NextNine’s solution automates the mapping of inventory of critical assets across multiple remote sites, centrally monitoring all assets to ensure compliance to corporate and regulatory security policy, and protecting the assets by centrally rolling out patches, updates and policy changes.

The auto-discovery feature allows full visibility of SCADA devices down to the level of PLCs and RTUs at Purdue Level 2.

“By expanding our auto-discovery with layer 2 devices, NexNine’s platform brings unprecedented visibility of assets to IT and OT managers,” said Shmulik Aran, NextNine’s CEO. “Complete and accurate inventory is a pre-requisite for reducing cyber security and operational risks, and is often a considerable operational challenge to overcome without a proper automated software tool.”

The new auto-discovery capability passively identifies all devices by analyzing network packets, eliminating any danger of disrupting the operation by active scanning.

“Industrial companies need a comprehensive, cost-effective solution for cyber security management and compliance,” said Sid Snitkin, VP and GM of ARC Enterprise Advisory Services. “While there is an abundance of point solutions for each piece of the puzzle, there are very few solutions like NextNine’s that offer a comprehensive, unified solution for SCADA/ICS cyber security. This solution provides support from asset discovery to policy enforcement and monitoring, all the way to real time protection, which would provide industrial companies with multiple sites a fully integrated platform to easily manage and secure their operational technology.”

At the ARC Industry Forum this week in Orlando, FL, NextNine’s Aran will be participating in a panel discussion on Industrial Cybersecurity Management taking place Feb. 9 at 4pm. The panel will be led by ARC’s Snitkin and joined by representatives from US Department of Homeland Security, Shell Global Solutions, and several other participants.

NextNine will be exhibiting in the Innovations Showcase, which is open during receptions, breaks and meals throughout the event. Visitors are invited to the NextNine booth, or to arrange a meeting please contact [email protected].
