PRESS RELEASE
Somerset, NJ –June 19, 2012 – Lumeta Corporation, pioneer and leader in network discovery, visualization and networkleak detection solutions for large enterprises and government agencies, today announced device profiling as one of the new features within its latest release.
IPsonar® quickly identifies the details of connected devices on IP-based networks as well as all ingress and egress points on a network, highlighting gaps in network defenses that compromise security and increase risk. Device profiling provides an accurate inventory of all devices attached to the network, and validates the operation of critical security components including SSL certificates and open networkports.
Common Criteria demonstratesthat IPsonar complies with the critical standards required for IT products in both federal civilian agencies as well as the Department of Defense.
By utilizing lightweight, credential-less discovery and scanning techniques, IPsonar’s device profiling provides a clear picture of connectivity and communication between systems and unparalleled deep visualization of the enterprise network – all without the need for software agents. This fundamental capability delivers true visibility, clearly answering the question of “what’s really on my network.” Now security and IT operations can be ensured of the confidentiality, integrity and availability across bring-your-own-device (BYOD) assets, as well as virtualized and cloud environments.
Using low-level investigation of network-connected devices, device profiling allows IPsonar users to quicklyidentify items in their networks. When combined with IPsonar’s Network Discovery and the Lumeta Network Index, device profiling provides rapid network discovery, validation, visualization and risk assessment of critical results. Consolidation of Network Discovery, detailed device information and risk metrics into a unified source gives network and security professionals a single location for actionable data.
“Device profiling delivers on the promise of advanced threat detection that so many enterprises are seeking today,” said Michael Markulec, CEO of Lumeta Corporation. “By monitoring the configuration of critical network infrastructure devices, both IT operations and security personnel can now quickly identify threat vulnerabilities and eliminate them in order to substantially reduce risk.”
Simultaneously, Lumeta announced that IPsonar is currently being evaluated under the CommonCriteria process, the international standard for technology security certification. Common Criteria demonstrates that IPsonar is in compliance with the critical standards required for IT products in both federal civilian agencies as well as the Department of Defense. IPsonar is being evaluated for Common Criteria Certification by SAIC, a trusted leader in the product validation space.
