PRESS RELEASE

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Softex' Inc. (www.softexinc.com), an established market leader in Enterprise Single Sign On (ESSO), Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Data Protection (Self Encrypting Drives) Solutions, announces the launch of SecureDisable - a security solution powered by Intel' Anti-Theft Technology (Intel' AT) that can lock-down lost or stolen Intel' processor-based notebooks.

The Problem: Enterprises today are facing a growing number of challenges in protecting confidential data and business assets from theft and unauthorized users. The loss and theft of these systems is not only costly, but it can also result in financial or legal exposure and cause significant disruptions to an enterprise. Many data breaches are due to insider theft of assets. Enterprises have a need to protect their laptop assets and confidential data with a simple and cost efficient solution that can integrate in their existing work flow consoles.

The Solution: Protect laptops and resident corporate data with SecureDisable - a simple anti-theft solution developed by Softex using Intel Anti-Theft Technology.

Intel AT provides local and remote theft detection mechanisms, and can lockdown stolen notebooks. The locked down notebook can easily be reactivated upon recovery by its owner. When used with Softex's standalone data protection solution, businesses can disable access to the encrypted data as well as lock-down a lost or stolen notebook at the BIOS level. The integrated solution can be centrally managed through the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) console using a Microsoft Management Console snap-in or through a BMC Remedy plug-in and can be extended to snap into other prevalent manageability consoles.

The integrated solution is designed for easy installation and deployment. It can be hosted in a cloud or on the customer site with a perpetual license per client PC. The target market for this solution includes IT outsourcers who require control on security policy, and need to deploy security services to their managed install base. These services are deployed via a centrally managed "private cloud". Similarly, enterprises can deploy this capability with an IT-hosted model to protect its employees' laptop assets and data. Lastly, this solution can also be used by Small Medium Businesses that use 3rd party managed offering for their IT needs.

"Softex is excited to add notebook security to its existing security suite of solutions that takes full advantage of the Intel Anti-Theft Technology to protect notebooks from theft while protecting sensitive corporate data. By integrating into existing workflows, corporations can maximize efficiencies in their IT departments. IT outsourcing organizations now have a new way to add value for their customers and increase revenue streams at a low cost," said Apurva Bhansali, CEO, Softex Incorporated.

"Intel is excited that Softex is delivering a solution based on the Intel Anti-Theft Technology," said George Thangadurai, general manager of Intel's PC Client Services Division. "Not only will this solution protect a company's assets, it is easy to manage and deploy across the organization which can decrease costs and shorten deployment time."

Softex will be showcasing a live demo of this product at the RSA show at its booth number 551.
