Cisco To Buy Lancope For $452.5 Million
Deal set to be finalized in the second quarter of 2016.
Cisco Systems announced today that the company will acquire network security firm Lancope for $52.5 million in cash and assumed equity awards.
Lancope offers network behavior analytics and threat intelligence. According to the two companies, the addition of Lancope's products will expand Cisco's portfolio in deep network behavior analytics.
"As enterprises digitize, security challenges rapidly evolve. Real time visibility and understanding of the behavior of every machine or device on the network becomes critical in adapting the ability of enterprises to identify and respond to the next wave of cyber threats," said Rob Salvagno, vice president, Cisco corporate development. "Together with Lancope, our combined solutions can help turn a customer’s entire network into a security sensor."
The deal is scheduled to be finalized in Q2 2016.
