Kuehn has been an active thought leader in security and advanced network technologies for close to 20 years. She evolved as a thought leader through leading some of the industry's first projects in Ethernet-as-a-network (CPA) and IAAS. Since joining BT, Kate has been focusing on developing complex solutions for key clients in the Americas and took over as head of the security practice in April 2015. She is passionate about developing women in technology and is a member of Light Reading's Women in Comms organization.

Kuehn attended Marquette and Northwestern Universities and holds certificates in International Politics from The Les Aspin Center for Government and Oxford University. When not focusing on security, the mom of four loves leading her girls' Girl Scout troop and spending as much time as possible sailing with her family. Kuehn's main areas of focus include understanding the role of the modern CISO, the correlation between security and traditional IT initiatives and STEM outreach.

Kuehn is an expert in security policies and practices at the highest level, and we'll look at where those practices are taking us -- and which policies should be left in the past. We'll also talk about her path to the upper echelon of corporate security, the things that organizations need to change to enable more women to follow a similar path and the shifts that must occur in the culture of security if we're going to succeed in creating a truly diverse and effective workforce.
