BAE Systems Extends Delivery of Cyber Threat Intelligence through Agreement with iSIGHT Partners at RSA
April 23, 2015
PRESS RELEASE
BAE Systems Applied Intelligence today announces that it is augmenting its threat intelligence client offering through an agreement with iSIGHT Partners, a leader in monitoring the global threat ecosystem and providing high-fidelity intelligence. This will enable BAE Systems to continue to service the rapidly growing market for threat intelligence services in the cyber domain and extend the breadth of information it can make available to clients in the United States.
The agreement to enable BAE Systems to directly provide their customers with services from iSIGHT Partners was signed by executives from both companies on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 at RSA in San Francisco.
As cyber threats continue to outpace organizations’ defenses, combating these adversaries must be achieved through threat and resource prioritization. To understand which threats are the most significant, organizations must deploy an intelligence-led approach to cyber security strategy, combining best of class monitoring and defensive technologies with actionable intelligence from both internal and external sources. Expanding the range of intelligence sources and tools available ensures a better understanding of the threat earlier in the attack cycle and leads to improved defences and more effective response and remediation.
BAE Systems Applied Intelligence currently tracks over 90 high-priority threat groups from across 15 countries. It produces a series of reports which outline some of the most advanced attack campaigns in the threat landscape. It was the BAE Systems team that detailed the extensive capabilities behind the ‘Snake’ threat group, for example, and shared its report (Snake cyber espionage toolkit) with the global security and business community. This allowed government and businesses around the world to discover existing compromises and secure their networks.
The agreement will enable organizations to proactively address threat issues on a real time basis and provide them with access to a wider range of reporting in additional specialist areas.
Colin McKinty, VP of Cyber Security Strategy for the Americas, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, said:
“We have always been committed to giving our customers the best mix of data sources and products available to combat the cyber threat. By augmenting the threat intelligence product set we can offer to our customers, we can help them to generate an even more complete picture of their threat landscape and therefore the measures they can take to stay ahead of threat actors.
Karl Hutter, VP of Global Strategic Partnerships and Channels, iSIGHT Partners, added:
“With the rapidly-evolving cyber threat landscape, it is crucial to be in front of the most sophisticated cyber threats. The combination of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence’s CyberReveal platform and iSIGHT Partners ThreatScape intelligence, gives joint customers a powerful tool mitigate, detect and respond to the latest security risks.
